Fiano has been in cultivation for more than two thousand years. The grape has low yields and the wine can be excitingly fresh in good years. The grape thrives in southern Italy, especially Campania (Fiano di Avellino is a DOCG) and Sicily. A small but growing number of Australian vineyards have plantings of the grape.
